Alexandra completed her undergraduate degree in biology from Dalhousie University in 2017 and is currently in the final year of her MSc in biochemistry and molecular biology. She is investigating the roles and involvement of the TSHR and its downstream pathways in hot thyroid carcinoma and nonautoimmune hyperthyroidism. Her project includes the characterization of a mouse model with a constitutively activating TSHR mutation and is a collaboration with the University of Turku in Finland. Alexandra presented her work at the Annual Meetings of the American Thyroid Association, the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism and the Finnish Endocrine Society in 2018, and at the Annual Meeting of the European Thyroid Association in 2019.
